The difference between Shamans and other healers is the deeper connection with life. Healers are givers, but Shamans take greater risks to give. Healers are dedicated to their calling, and yet Shamans ARE their calling. The tools they use are also different, healers use energy and physical tools such as herbs, similarly Shamans use these things...but also dreams, journeys, shifting; Shamans immerse themselves in the path. Shamans heal the whole inside and out. They also rely on the Creator and the gifts the Creator gave to them. The animals, the plants, the rocks, the earth and sky.
It gently allows the unfolding of what's already in people and allows them to embrace something larger ...
Shamanism is based on the premise that the visible world is pervaded by invisible forces or spirits which affect the lives of the living. In contrast to organized religions like animism or animatism which are led by priests and which all members of a society practice, shamanism requires individualized knowledge and special abilities. Shaman operate outside established religions, and, traditionally, they operate alone, although some take on an apprentice. We come together as a group to refocus our path, to be the highest form of healing that can occur on the planet. This is Bob's hope and wish. It is not the way or path for everyone. It is Bob’s path and his ultimate passion. |
